Xylophone gun -- Early firearm (ca. 1400 A.D.) with multiple barrels arranged in a horizontal manner, often on an artillery carriage. The term “xylophone gun” was applied to this type of firearm because of its resemblance to the musical instrument. -- December 19, 2016*
